Don't step over this line
Set the scene: The family minus dad is in the family wagon on the way to pick up a pirate decoration for Aaron's birthday. Aaron has been taunting Emily and Emily has been doing a good job of ignoring him. Aaron, not easily disuaded, kicks it up a notch. He extends his tongue and the raspberry storm is unleashed.
Have you ever seen the Tom Hanks movie "Turner and Hooch" with the big old Saint Bernard that slobbers all over the place.
The point is that sluices were wide open.
Strike one: Erica issues a warning which is simply ignored by the daring young man.
Strike two and three in one swing: Erica gives Aaron the over the shoulder evil eye and with gritted teeth gives a clear message: STOP IT. Then Erica, fortuanately turns her attention back to the task of driving the vehicle, but peeks an eye into the rearview mirror. Aaron, completely unmoved by his mother's decree, simply rails against this unjustice by extending his tongue full-out, and delivering a high quality, no nonsense raspberry right at her.
Erica checks the rearview mirror for any following traffic, sees that the road is clear, then applies approximately 4000 ft lbs of pressure to the no go pedal. Erica, who's head has split in half and exposed a demonic creature turns toward Aaron and declares "I'm turning the car around! We're going home! You're going to time out! And we're not getting the pirate."
"I willn't do dat eva again!" This futile plea for mercy was followed by his screaming at a decibel level that would rival any Who concert ever witnessed.
The family minus dad arrives home, sans pirate decoration, and everyone tumbles out and back into the house. Aaron is promptly sent up to his bedroom.
"I'LL NEVAH LOVE YOU!"
time passes
Dad arrives home late and catches wind of this event from Emily. Emily relishes in the telling of the event. Mind you, none of this would have been funny to either Aaron or mom at the time it occured, but I've managed to retell the tale and catch a few laughs from mom. I think Aaron will owe mom an apology when he gets older.
